Hong Kong and Japan finished unbeaten on the opening day of the Mumbai Sevens, the third ranking event in the HSBC Asian Sevens Series, at the Bombay Gymkhana Club on Saturday.
Hosts India struggled on the first day of their debut Asian Sevens tournament, losing against all three of their pool opponents: Hong Kong (0–43), Thailand (0–33) and UAE (24–14).
India captain Rohan Sethna labeled the day’s performance as “disappointing”. “We expect more of ourselves. I think our performance shows that we need to spend more time on the Series next year,” he said.u00a0
