Force India driver reposes faith in under-fire tyre manufacturer Pirelli
Even as his opponents have come out and slammed Pirelli over the multiple blowouts at last weekend’s British GP, Force India’s Adrian Sutil has reposed faith in the tyre manufacturers.

Sutil, speaking from Nurburg, which is the venue for the German GP this weekend, said: “There were quite a few issues with the tyres at Silverstone (for other teams). But we (Force India) had no issues, we were comfortable at Silverstone. I don’t know if it was a curb issue or a tyre issue, but it’s (the debate) up in the air.
“If it’s a safety problem, Pirelli would do something. I think Pirelli is a good manufacturer and will sort out the issues. The tyres are not that bad, but they could make a much better tyre.”
In the aftermath of the incident-filled British GP weekend, which saw five blowouts, there were reports that some of the drivers were even contemplating a strike unless the tyre manufacturer takes corrective measures.
Sutil, however, choose to be patient considering the exact reasons behind the blowouts has not been established.
“Many drivers were angry at the time, but after the race, no one knows what the issue is. It could be the race-track, maybe there’s a sharp curb somewhere at Silverstone. I don’t have any problem with the tyres, so I can’t say anything wrong about it.”
Sutil also has high hopes from the upcoming German GP, which is his home race.
“I believe I can match that performance in 2011 (when he finished sixth at Germany GP). Top 6 or better is my target this weekend,” he added.
