Happy Diwali!

Diwali 2023 is knocking on the door, and Mona Singh, Shruti Seth, and Shweta Kawaatra opened the door and gave us a peek into their joys of the festive season. In India, the festival of lights is undeniably one of the happiest times of the year. The whole country gets lit up for the occasion; everything is spick and span, and in general, there is happiness and joy overflowing from all corners of the country.

On this occasion, we got exclusive input from three powerhouse women who graciously shared how they each celebrate the festival of lights.

Mona Singh, who has been having a stellar year, with Made in Heaven 2 and more recently, Kaala Paani, opened up about Diwali 2023. She shared, "Diwali is a very special occasion for us in our household as we look forward to putting in some quality family time. All of us lead really busy lives so festivals give a much needed breathing space to unwind and reconnect with ourselves and our dear ones. Amidst our hectic work, it’s imperative to uplift the festive spirit, not just through our  presence but also sharing the load during the preparations of the festivities irrespective of existing gender roles."

The founder of the Coto community, Meri Marzi, also added, "We will be visiting our parents and are quite excited for all the get-togethers that are going to take place. Just like every household, we are gearing up for Diwali with lighting up diyas, small pooja, flower decorations and are looking forward to all of us spending time with each others with night full of stories, joy and abundance"

Shruti Seth, a beloved Television figure, and emotional intelligence coach said, "Diwali is just around the corner, and much like everyone else, we are in the process of making preparations – buying gifts, sprucing up our home, engaging in some spring cleaning, and lighting up our spaces. What's truly wonderful is that in our household, everyone pitches in, be it my daughter, my husband, or our nanny. Thanks to their contributions, I don't feel overwhelmed trying to manage everything on my own, and everyone gets to be a part of the festivities."

Shruti Seth, who is also the founder of the Coto community, 'I Wish I Knew This Sooner', continued, "I believe the essence of all festivals lies in bringing people together. It's an opportunity for families to partake in joy, responsibilities, hospitality, and decor. I'm truly grateful to have experienced this both with my parents and now with my family and all those who support our lives. This, for me, embodies the spirit of Diwali and all festivals. I wish everyone a joyous Diwali, may the year ahead be filled with prosperity, peace, and an abundance of love."

Shweta Kawaatra, the 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii' actress and founder of the Coto community, 'My Mental Wellness Journey' took a moment to bring light to something very important, family. She shared, "Every year, we celebrate Diwali with our parents in Delhi. It is important for our daughter, Zahra-Tabeetha, to witness and understand our culture through her grandparents and so celebration of this festival calls for some quality family time. Both Manav and I strongly believe in the family system and consciously work hard to ensure we visit our parents during the festive season."

Shweta also said, " We want to set an example for our daughter that festivals are not just an individual's responsibility but a combined effort of all to experience the joy of the season. It is during this time, I get to witness wholesome moments wherein everybody has a shared responsibility towards preparing for the occasion and the entire family gets together to make these festivals truly memorable."
