"Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) shall pay more attention in addressing the issue of meaningful employment to its graduates this year," said university Vice Chancellor, Prof VN Rajasekharan Pillai, in his New Year message.

Initiating campus recruitment, Prof Pillai said IGNOU is making arrangements with multi-national corporations and IT companies for placement of its students in the fields of Information Technology and communication services.

Prof Pillai said interested students and companies should get in touch with the IGNOU Placement Cell.u00a0 Students can fill up an online questionnaire at www.ignou.ac.in as well. Addressing academics and administrative officials of IGNOU, Prof Pillai emphasised that IGNOU's distance education system has proved to be an effective education and skill development model for highly populated countries all over the world.u00a0u00a0

"We are also trying to enhance the quality of our services to the ever- increasing student population.

Innovative and flexible use of different strategies of teaching and learning needs to be adapted in all our activities," Prof Pillai said.u00a0
