Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis introduced a series of educational videos developed by Nagpur City Police as part of the "Police Didi" project. The initiative's goal is to involve and educate school-aged girls, parents, and teachers on how to recognise, prevent, and respond to threats of sexual offences, harassment, and abuse, stated a report in PTI.

According to the report, Aswati Dorje, Joint Commissioner of Police, stated that the educational videos are not only informative but also designed to appeal to their target audience. The Nagpur Police emphasises teamwork in tackling societal concerns and is determined to prevent human trafficking.

"The educational videos are not only informative but also tailored to resonate with their target audience. Nagpur Police believes in collaboration while addressing societal challenges. We are determined to combat human trafficking and will keep working towards achieving our goal," said Joint Commissioner of Police Aswati Dorje was quoted as saying in the PTI report.

The videos, which aim to raise awareness and empower individuals, will be distributed through a variety of channels, including social media, schools, and community centres. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasised the significance of remaining watchful and educated, noting that citizen education is critical for reducing crime and creating a safe environment for women, children, and all members of society.

Kumar, per PTI report, stated, "By educating the people, we aim to create a safe environment for women, children and everyone. Staying vigilant and well-informed is crucial for citizens to prevent crime."

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident from Nagpur, a school teacher from the city was arrested by the cops for allegedly filming women using the washroom at an industrial expo where they had come to participate in the event, stated a PTI report.

According to the report, the accused identified as Mangesh Vinayakrao Khapre (37), a resident of Kasarpura in Nagpur, was discreetly filming videos of the women on his phone through a window of the washroom.

When one of the attendees reported the incident to the organisers, they reported it to the cops who after conducting an investigation arrested Khapre, an art teacher.
