Republic Day 2025: Important rules to keep in mind while hoisting Flag

Republic Day 2025: Important rules to keep in mind while hoisting Flag

Republic Day is a special occasion for every Indian as it marks the adoption of our Constitution. On January 26, 1950, our Constitution came into effect, and India officially became a Republic. This day signifies India’s transition from a British Dominion to a fully independent and sovereign republic, with its own system of governance. This year, we will celebrate the 76th Republic Day. One of the most significant traditions of Republic Day celebrations is the hoisting of the national flag. The Indian flag is more than just a piece of cloth. It represents our unity, freedom, and the strength of our nation. To show it the respect it deserves, we need to follow certain guidelines and when displaying it. These rules are outlined in the Flag Code of India, which was introduced in 2002 and updated in 2021 and 2022. So, if you are hoisting the flag this Republic Day, please keep in mind the following rules to ensure it is displayed with the utmost respect.
